Mark - No need to pay for scanning. I have three (count 'em 3) scanners in my office. Rob, I'm certain that the EMD drawings are the same as the ones (as in identical) in the RCT&HS archives. They are old blue lines, which was an ammonia based process. I'll dig one out and try scanning later this week.

Who is this Rob and why would you need his approval?

Best check with Tom for that permission, lol.

Doh, I meant Tom. That’s what happens when you get all work up over an eBay auction.

Bill, thanks for the effort. If it scans, that will be great information for the forum. One of the many “wonderful” jobs I had as youth was working a blueprint copying machine that used ammonia. Words can’t describe how much fun it was standing in front of that machine as it printed.

Thanks for the heads-up Chris! Looks like Athearn is taken the lead on supplying HO Reading equipment these days. Think I might preorder a couple boxcars and hold on the F7s for now. The market is flooded with new locomotive releases from several manufactures, so I would bet you’ll find good deals on those F units after they hit dealers next summer.

Athearn F7

Athearn doesn't have a link set up for the boxcars yet. It must have "just" been announced and someone didn't have the PDF file ready!

PDF is now available:

RDG HO 50’ Outside Braced boxcar

Whow, they are doing C&O, PC, and LV aside from Reading! I would sure like to know if this is new tooling or a recycled older model. Also, no mention of separately applied grab irons (although I’ve seen past RTR Athearn cars that had them).
