Rob...good job on the station...looks great.

I needed a break from the green and yellow so I decided to see red.I picked up two Athearn GP9 phaseIII's three weeks ago and finally finished the first unit.Of course both will be LV units 300 & 301.Still haven't decided if 301 will be in the yellow band scheme or painted as 300.
Anyway,300 started as an undec. Genesis unit. The unit did not come with sun shades, winterization hatch or speed recorder. Also, the head light housings were two different styles.I used P2K parts for the sun shades and winterization hatch.
The unit was painted using MM insignia red.The orange used was MM insignia orange.Weathered black for the trucks and fuel tank.Microscale decals were applied and the weathereing was done with pencil, paints and powders.

Chris, those LV units look great! Is number 318 one of the new Genesis GP38-2 models? I was tempted to get one until all the ruckus came up about the paint color being off. The thought of stripping and repainting a $200 plus “new” model doesn’t have much appeal to me. :(
Thanks for sharing,
Mark

Casey...LV follows a close second to my favorite...RDG lines.

Thanks Mark...the 318 is an Athearn Genesis unit that was purchased as an undecorated model.I have another sitting on the to do shelf.
When Athearn announced LV 38's I opted for the undecorated model.LV cornel red seems to be another color topic that everyone has an opinion on,as our RDG yellow.Anyway,IMHO I think the Atlas factory painted units are correct and the best match I found to the Atlas units is Model Master insignia red...my two cents on the subject.

Here's an overview of my latest project: an addition to my Merkiomen 2 (www.readingmodeler.com/index.php/photos/model-photos) based on MR's Virginian Thin Branch. Out of sight on the right in the first picture is a 3 track staging yard. In the foreground is Moyers on the original layout.

Picture 2 is Stover's Mill. The GP7 is the work of 2771-Chris.
