This board is the place where questions and information specific to MODELING the Reading Company, its equipment and operations can be shared - questions like "What was the window arrangement of AF Tower in Alburtis?" and "What color paint do YOU use to paint the Reading's cream-and-brown buildings?" We also want to hear about YOUR Reading modeling projects!

Just M.U. hoses to go and the pilot mods to my 5513 will be complete. I had hoped to have this one ready in time for the meet but didn't quite make it. I guess next year.

Everyone’s work looks real good!

Just an FYI, MB Klein is running a 10% off sale on Kadee cars and they have 5 Reading 50-ton offset hoppers in stock at $29.29. That’s a pretty good price and the cars are far and away the best looking RTR offset hoppers available.

Thanks, Mark

Just when you think you finally got something right, someone comes along with another picture from another angle and you're back on the drawing board. Thanks Steve! We believe the prototype photo is a portion of a Houseman photo
I see I must fix the roof, replace a window and add a support column in front

Very nice, Rob! At the risk of starting a fracas, what colors did you use?

Floquil Roof Brown and Depot Buff. I think the Depot Buff could be mixed with some white to lighten it up a bit, but I think it generally gives the right feel for me.

The photo was taken with my Iphone and no flash as the back lighting was pretty bright. Unfortunately this view faces the wall and is only about 8 or 9 inches from the wall so it is a little dark.

Here's the street view, a little better lighting
