My version of a XAPc.I decided to model this car using a Walther's PS 60 DD box car...not prototypical but a good enough stand in for me.
The car started as a decorated model for the CNW as shown below.

I disassembled the car and painted over the unit with SCII box car red.In hind sight I should have removed the lettering because the new paint didn't cover as well as I thought it would.
I used decal from the RDG modeler and MS 87-144,87-462 and 87-37.
Weathering was done with several applications of white and black powders.I used Vallejo dark rust wash on the couplers.
Left side.

Right side.

Higher angle.

Close ups of the lettering. In the second photo you can see the CNW logo showing through.

My two recently completed box cars.

Robins Rails made a 60' car in the 80's that Bobb Losse worked over to make a Rdg-flavored car-in RMC back in the 80's I believe..Doubt you could find one on flea-bay, so the Walthers makes a great start!

Mitch, That 60' boxcar offered by Robbins Rails was later offered by Concor. It can still be had by Ebay. Just FYI.

John Caples

PS here are 2 RDG boxcars that I built using the Robbins Rails / ConCor 60' boxcar.
