I use metal wheels on all my rolling stock.Mostly P2K wheels, but good luck finding them because I believe Walther's has discontinued making them.I've also used wheel sets from Bowser,Kadee and Intermountain.

In regards to the metal wheel discussion, be careful if and when you elect to purchase P2K metal wheels at a show, etc. The early runs of these were slightly bigger than 33", so if you wish to weather them they won't fit of course in a masking jig. When Walthers took over the manufacturing they became the correct size, and fit nicely in to the weathering jigs. Also, don't forget about Intermountain wheels, I have used them primarily with great success in .110" treads. Lastly, I have heard my fair share of negative remarks when it comes to the Kadee trucks with wheel wear. Bill

I have used P2K wheels, I just paint the front black. I also now use Kadee wheel sets, because the P2K are hard to find, and I have no problems with the Kadee ones. Butch Curll

I have tried to standardize with Intermountain wheelsets for all cars that did not come with metal wheels. I'm not going to swap metal for metal, but all plastic-wheeled cars from this point forward get Intermountains as part of my process...

Now, if I could just find time to weather the fleet...

me too Tom, if I buy a car with metal wheels I do not change them either.the modular group that I am in only requires metal wheels,no specific manufacturer.

Finished a XMz double door.I wanted to model 105425 but my six panel superior doors are delayed so I decided to do 463.Don't know if it had the same door arrangement so I used 7 panel doors.
Unit started as an undecorated Accurail offering which was painted using SCII RDG green. One set of doors are Branchline the other I scavaged off an old C&BT shops kit.The trucks and wheel faces were painted grimy black.Highball Graphics decals were used along with a few from the RDG modeler.
The model sports kadee couplers and wheels from Intermountain.
Pictures before the Pan Pastel process.

After weathering, this side has the Branchline doors.

Close up of the doors and decal application.

Doors from the C&BT shops kit were used on this side.

Close up,these doors had a much deeper molding.

The following three shots are of the ends and roof area.
