Nice weathering! What technique did you use for the brown rust spotting on the second and third cars?

Thanks Turbo...I use the AIM pastel powders and apply them with micro brushes. After each application I seal the effect with dull coat and repeat the process till I'm satisfied. What loose powder that remains I use a wide brush and drag it down the side of the car before sealing.
For the spotted rust I dip the tip of a medium micro brush (green handled) into the desired rust color and dab it onto the model and then use the wide brush down the car sides.
Having a prototype picture helps with what your trying to achieve.

Been busy adding weathering to my covered hoppers used for cement and lime stone service.
First up a pair of LV units. These were offered by,I believe,Rail Graphic in a three car set years ago.I used AIM powders on these units.

This next unit is a Bowser offering I picked up last week. This is really a nicely done model.I also used AIM powders on this unit.

All were sealed with dull coat. All of the following units were weathered using Pan Pastels and I liked them better then the AIM products.

In the last two weeks my local hobby shop has installed led lighting in eight of my 7's and their performance has been outstanding.I'm now able to mu them with my newer P2K,Atlas,Bowser and Athearn models. Before I could only mu them with each other or the older P2K GP 30's.
Walther's needs to reintroduce this unit along with their 9's,by far the best looking gp 7 on the market.I put the suggestion into them once a week along with the extended SD45 cab.Anyway, happy modeling.

The second to last kit I got for Christmas back in I think 2012 has finally been built riding on walthers pullman 8' trucks. A piece of .040 styrene was added to the higher extra bolsters to get the trucks to sit well on the frame. An E-5 is switching the car next to the pullman observation named after my father.
