My 3606 former 5517.


Not completely finished.I want to work on the weathering some more.Again,this was the Walthers 5517.I painted the side sill SCII RDG green using the air brush this time and removed the number with solvset and pearl pink eraser.Added the MS decals.


The grabs,railings and step edges were repainted using Floquil railbox yellow.The grillwork was painted oily black.Black chalk was also applied.
The unit seems to be developing a rust problem on the short hood and roof.Over head views of 3600 and I believe 3601 inspired the application.

The factory applied numbers were painted over using SCII engine black.After the paint dried MS decals were applied.I added the wipers,arm rests and wind screens.The drip strip is strip styrene painted with PS Seaboard Airline yellow.The weathering was done using chalks,pencil and pan pastels.The trucks and fuel tank on this unit were painted a grimy black.Pics of the cab and short hood area.

Finished with the 201.Added the drip strips,firecracker,painted the lower areas of the stanchions green and weathered.

Finished up a Reading XAd auto-box, and caught it in some freight action. This was one of the first 35 sold by Dick Foley who will be presenting at the Modelers Meet II this fall. The one piece casting was really well done by Steve Funaro. Bill
