Chris, do you by any chance have prototype pictures of the bulkhead flat? that's really cool I've never seen that before.

Rdgrail,

The only picture I seen of this car can be found on page 20 of Bossler's RDG Color Guide to Freight & Passenger Equipment.

Finished work on one of my Genesis 38-2's. The unit was painted using Model Master insignia red.In my eyes it matches up pretty well with the red used on Atlas factory painted units. The decals are from MS.Floquil engine and weathered black paints were used for the walkways, number boards, pilots, trucks and fuel tank.SCII Illinois Central orange was used on the handrails, step edges and grabs.Pencil and powders for the weathering.

318 teams up with C420 #411.Most likely this would be a rare lash-up on the LV since the 38-2's were usually teamed up in sets of three. On the other hand, after both units went to the D&H it might of happened more often.
Checking my records I completed 411 back in Nov. of 2008. The same paints were used on 411 as on todays completed 318.

LV and RDG power meet.

As a note to the Orange Panel HTd conversation. The HTd cars with the removable roofs (41450 to 41529) do have a yellowish panel that states "removable roof" per photos in Bossler's "RDG Color Guide" on cars 41471 and 41476. There has also been a photo of HTz 40315 with an end panel and a removable roof posted by Bob Gottschall on line.

Received my decals this past week from Tom.My plan is to do a couple of 50fter's with the white DF lettering.Since I do not have any of those cars yet I decided to work on a 40fter.This particular car is an Accurail model that I applied the paint to a good two years ago.I stored the unit because I couldn't find any RDG Champ decals to finish it back then. The car was painted with SCII tuscan. In future,I'll be using the recommended box car red.

First up two pictures of the R side.

L side.
