Hmm, how about a hybrid font set that includes correct numbers and lettering for steam & diesel. Also, would it make sense to do a separate sheet of just diamonds that cover a variety of applications? That way Tom doesn’t have to offer single decal sheets that are specific to only one or two locomotive classes. Do we want only HO scale or N scale too?

Thanks, Mark

Can the gondola set be back dated??? I say this because I am one of those who missed out on the Tangent "Bethlehem" gondola release in the original black scheme. The undecorated models for these are readily available but nothing for the GHh, GHj, and GHl schemes are on the decals set from Tom. While on the gondola topic, what about the diamond herald that appeared on the early coil covers??? The covers can be easily done in a resin casting project to add yet one more dimension to the hobby.

Also, as Butch mentioned some steam decals sets. Who was behind the set of G-3 decals put out by the RCT&HS about 10 years ago???? They were printed by Rail Graphics, I have only one set and held on to them for my brass G-2.

Steam set (like sold for $100.00 plus on ebay.) and 1st gen diesel set. also a specialty set like on the orange or blue inserts on the hoppers ( stone loads, sugar loads, & ore ) and include cornwall. and banner letter decals in green so I can spray my own yellow banner (slightly faded & oxidized ). I can then make them any length and change the point short or longer. Just my opinion.
Whoa! that sounded like I'm sitting on Santa's Lap!

VC...not trying to take away any sales of RM decals but microscales RDG box car decal format for RDG banners is set up with seperate green lettering.

I did not know that. I guess I don't have that sheet in my collection. Thanks Chris!
And by the way a hybrid set with steam and 1st gen diesel and that 2nd gen double stripe diamond in the green machines book would be good.

Added weathering to four Athearn and one Atlas HTw hoppers. The trucks and wheel faces were painted grimy black and the weathering affect were created using black, white and rust colored powders. All sealed with dull coat.

Like I said I also worked on one of my Atlas HTw's.The Atlas unit is a bit longer, wider rib spacing and better interior detail.Athearn did do a good job with the addition of metal grabs and all the piping.

So when it comes to car length which is correct?

Hello Chris,
Great work as always! Regarding your question about the difference in dimensions between the two models; maybe you can find the drawing for that class on The Alphabet Route website and see which is closest to being correct. Just off the top of my head, I seem to recall reading that the Atlas model is more accurate while the Athearn is off. Isn’t the Athearn version just a rework of the MDC model? Don’t know, but I’m sure someone here does.
Does anyone know if the RCT&HS has one in their collection?
Regardless, it has been a while since someone produced a nice, accurate Reading hopper based on “new” tooling. Probably our best bet for that is Bowser.
Thanks, Mark
