The other unit that I finally got around to finishing is 5211.I added some details to the trucks and painted them grimey black.I also painted the interior and added a crew.Weathering was accomplished using mostly a mechanical pencil and black and white powders.

I finished one of two sw's I received at Christmas.I completed 2767 yesterday. The unit was painted using PS RDG yellow,SCII RDG green,FQ engine and grimey black and PS oily black.MS and HK decals were used.Since Athearn doesn't provide horns with their undecorated units I used Cal Scale Nathan air horn 19"(190-422)and mounting bracket (190-620).The unit was weathered with pencil and powders and sealed with dull coat.I use a micron ink pen,.005,for the window gaskets on my models and let it dry over night but it ran after the dull coat application so I had to redo them with paint and a brush.I never ran into this problem before.I did apply the Cannon Walkway thread but I ran into problems mounting the long hood hand rails.I removed the Cannon part and just painted the long hood walkways black.

Other things added to the unit were the speed recorder, sinclair antenna, drip strips and the three grabs below the engineer's window. The railings and grabs were first painted with PS RDG yellow as a base coat. After drying,I applied FQ railbox yellow to give it the look of a safety yellow.
Picture of 2767/66.66 an Athearn painted model that I renumbered.I always liked SCII version of RDG green, don't care much for Athearn's application.Since I weather all my units paint fades differently as with the prototypes.

Did 2763 awhile back in the follow the build thread.Shots of 2763/67 mu'ed.

Did some weathering on two Athearn covered hoppers decorated for the C&O. The Chessie received powder application. The gray received the same along with dry brushing with artist oils.
