Nothing says Chessie more then GP40-2.I bought these Atlas units when they were first introduced(2008 I believe)and I finally unboxed my second unit and weathered.
4138's engineer side.

Fireman's side.

Three unit lash-up of Chessie power. The first two units are 40-2's.I weathered 4151 and 3690 a couple of years ago,3690 is a GP 40.

Since setting up a double track 5 by 12 oval and running some trains I've been going through some of my stored rolling stock and adding weathering and some upgrades.
First up some RDG gons.I added the extra bracing using evergreen angle(291),painted and weathered. If you recall this gon was part of a three car RDG set offered by Athearn years ago.

Side two

The following two gons were painted years ago using floquil RDG green and EL yellow. When I did these their interiors were painted yellow along with the top edge.I added the extra bracing and painted the interiors with a weathered black. Both car were decaled with HK offerings.

note;the patina below the E&H is not the result of a finger print. When I applied the powder with the brush that's the result.

The final is an Itermountain offering.I picked up two of them from a bargain bin for 12 bucks.Still have one to do.Same application as on the LV unit.

Videos are cool, I like doing to prove the project actually work too. For videos in general I switched to youtube mostly because the videos imbed in themselves into forums well.

I was playing around on the diorama last weekend taking pictures of finished stuff. It was mostly to get a feel for lighting and angles. I think In the spring I will take it outside for some really goo natural light and get pictures of everything that is done.

I thought this one did turn out really cool though.
