Thanks Mark

I compromised on the P2K model with the rib count,P2K's 14 versus RDG's 13.I believe the P2K is based on the thrall design and the RDG assembled their Ghy's.Research showed the thrall was produced with both 13 and 14 ribs.Comparing the picture on page 36 of Bossler's book it was close enough for my taste to go ahead with the project. Now that I've done this model someone will come out with the 13 rib variation.

My last two units are also P2K offerings.I wanted to add a couple of GHv's (31700/849). Again, comparing pics on page 34 of Bossler's book the P2K model was close. My observation is the models ribs are thicker compared to the prototype but the correct rib count of 19 sold me.
The models came painted in the B&O scheme,I removed the lettering and painted over the black with the SCII RDG green. The extra bracing on the top chord is already applied to the model. The models interior came painted white.I like the look so I masked it before painting.

My GHv 31735 sides 1 and 2.

GHv 31756 sides 1 and 2.

I decided that these units would be dedicated to hauling coiled steel so I constructed a bracing system to secure the coils in place. I used Evergreen items 264 channel and 293 angle styrene and then hand painted yellow.Don't know if at all prototypical, but works for me.

Views of both interiors.

Both units side by side.

Coiled steel loads.

Well, thanks for looking.I'm king of gondola-ed out.But I did order more gon decals this morning.

Took a break from working on my freight cars and decided to add weathering and some details to my ROCKET II Bowser offering. The model was disassembled and the globs of grease were removed from the gears.I drilled and added the DW parts to the appropriate locations on the side frames and painted them PS tarnished black along with the fuel tank and frame.
Cab,I removed the side windows and frame and added an Atlas crew securing them to the cab walls with Walthers goo.I added the arm rest and painted it before the crew was added.
Weathering, completed with pencil, powders and dry brushing.
Conductor side views.

Soot accumulation on the roof with some rust spots.

Right truck and cab detail.

Rear truck detail, drop step in the down position and weathering.

Some shots of 5300 at the Sunbury St. crossing.

5300 on approach toward the photographer.I used several photo references when adding the weathering and a few photos showed that circular pattern on the nose, looks to me like chipped paint.I accomplished this with pencil. Also notice the dirt on the nose and pilot from wheel splash.

Views of 5300/03 & 5204 passing track side.

I've been running this combination on my carpet empire. The 3 units work flawlessly together on dc pulling a 48 car mixed freight.
