This board is the place where questions and information specific to MODELING the Reading Company, its equipment and operations can be shared - questions like "What was the window arrangement of AF Tower in Alburtis?" and "What color paint do YOU use to paint the Reading's cream-and-brown buildings?" We also want to hear about YOUR Reading modeling projects!

Casey, very cool. That circuit must Be 80 linear feet so? 37 car train is pretty cool. Can we get a track plan/specs or some wider angle / "flyover"pics?

The set up is basically the same as what it has been. 2 ovals with 8, 9" strait sections with 22" and 26" radius. The scenic sections are made to be mobile being done in 2, 36"x17.5" sections. Had to make it a little less then 18" wide to fit in the trunk of my car side by side, though I have not tried to transport them yet finished. To be used for videos or as a quick display the base is hardboard and the track sits on cork. This allows me to just plug ez track into it on a flat surface.

This was early construction playing with making the rock wall.

I basically finished the first side then focused on the second one.

Here is an areal shot, you can also see the blue backdrop I use.

There are still details I want to add but its good enough to use for now.
The rocks are ceiling tiles, grass is woodland scenic, and the trees are super trees.

Nice job, Casey. The ceiling tiles make great sedimentary rock. Your scenery work is looking as good as your locomotive models!

Thanks!
I definitely spent some time with my camera on this and I'm sure there will be more playing with shots and angles. The first project featured on it will be the DL&W F-18 I am currently working on but the next 2 projects lined up are Reading.

This was some of the experimenting, I want to add other details in time like the crossbuck for the crossing maybe a simple farm fence for an area and phone lines, but the major work is done.

So, after the modelers meet, which was great thanks Barry, I decided to give Casey's technique a try. I'm pretty impressed at how it's going so far. The photos are a little bad (taken from my ipod), but I will eventually be taking them with my camera. I haven't posted on here in a long time, so I might as well jump back into it, ha ha. Pictures of the progress so far are attached.
