Love me them Baldwins. I bought this undecorated pre-Bowser VO-1000 years ago, painted it with Sccalecoat II and decaled it with the Micro Scale switcher set. Since I wanted to run it amongst camelbacks, I didn't include drip strips or yellow handrails. Now that I moved my era forward to the mid-50s, last week I added drip strips and painted the handrails appropriately. I also added crew members to the cab. Incidentally, #87 was the first engine to run on my current layout. I had just bought the MRC Controller 20 (or whatever that handheld monstrosity is) and connected the wrong terminals. #87 ran full speed down the "interchange" track and off the layout, breaking the front coupler, the air hose, and one of the footboards. When I replaced the coupler, I "did it right", drilling and tapping a 2-56 hole. I attached the coupler pocket with a brass 2-56 screw, over-tightened it, and snapped the screw off at the frame. Having purchased a DS-4-4-1000 shortly afterwards, it took me 10 years to repair this bad luck locomotive, and here it is in its as-yet unweathered glory (and still missing the front air hose!).

Thanks, Robin. So, I had some time Tuesday night to do a little work on the G1. I built a new front pilot and cowcatcher, and mounted the stack. It's getting somewhere, but slowly becoming something haha. I will try to post more updates possibly this weekend, but it depends on if I have time, so for now, enjoy. :P

Looks good Casey, and I also love those baldwins, Robin. I had almost the same situation like your switcher, Robin. My dad had gotten me a proto S1 for my birthday one year, and the day I got it I pulled it out of the box. Me being young and dumb, I put it on the table close to the edge. My mom was setting the dinner table and accidentally knocked it off the edge. The front footboard was broken and the knuckle broke off. I replaced the coupler, but didn't fix the footboard. I ran it a lot, but I recently had motor problems with it, and one thing led to another, and now it's on the shelf waiting to be fixed. Eventually I will get that S1 running again someday.
